Join us for our Spring Thaw, where we will kick off The Talking Farm's 2016 growing season with a casual gathering of friends, food, drink and music. It will be held on Sunday, April 17 at Farmhouse Evanston from 5 to 8 pm. Tickets are $75/person. Casual Dress.
We will have a wonderful night of farm-to-table tastings featuring heavy appetizers and entrees from Farmhouse's spring BBQ menu. (Scroll down for the menu.) A large selection of local beer and wine will be served. Sample beer from our sponsor, Temperance Beer Company of Evanston.
Our special guest, Poor Man's Cow, will be performing their unique blend of musical styles to entertain you. We will also have special silent auction and raffle items, including a personalized, catered dinner for 8 by J & L Catering, a professional landscape design consultation ($1,500 value), a wood-fired oven pizza class and dinner for 4 from Skokie’s Bootleg Bâtard ($250 value), a tour of FEW Distillery for 4, gift cards from Boltwood, Peckish Pig, and Found restaurants in Evanston...and much more!
Proceeds from the Spring Thaw support The Talking Farm, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, which provides urban agricultural educational opportunities as well as operates the Howard Street Farm, a 2.75 acre urban farm that services the surrounding communities of Skokie, Evanston, northern Chicago and the north shore of Chicagoland.
